Nexnodic — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026 Effective date: 9 July 2026 Applies to: the Nexnodic browser extension ("Nexnodic," "the extension," "we," "us") published on the Chrome Web Store.

The short version

  • Nexnodic is local-first. Your Gemini conversations, saved memories, pins, prompts, folders, and settings are stored on your device.

  • We never collect, transmit, or store the content of your AI conversations.

  • We collect the minimum needed to run optional accounts and billing: your email address (for sign-in) and a subscription status. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.

  • No ads. No third-party analytics. No tracking across sites.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy describes how the Nexnodic browser extension handles information. It does not cover Google Gemini itself, which is operated by Google under Google's own privacy policy.

2. Information stored on your device (not sent to us)

The following is stored locally through the browser's chrome.storage and IndexedDB and is not transmitted to us:

  • Saved memories — responses or tables you choose to save.

  • Pinned exchanges — references to conversation turns you pin.

  • Prompt templates — reusable prompts you create.

  • Folders and chat organization — your folder tree and chat-to-folder mappings (stored in a local IndexedDB database).

  • Settings and preferences — including your DOM selector overrides, panel positions, and feature toggles.

  • Cached subscription tier — a copy of your current plan (free/premium) so the extension works offline.

You can view and delete this data at any time from within the extension (delete individual memories, pins, prompts, and folders) or clear it entirely by removing the extension from your browser.

3. Information we collect (only if you choose to sign in or subscribe)

Nexnodic works without an account. If you opt in to create an account or purchase Premium, we process:

  • Email address — used to sign you in via a one-time code (OTP) through our authentication provider (Supabase) and to establish your entitlement.

  • Authentication tokens — issued after sign-in and stored locally to keep you signed in; sent only to our own licensing endpoint to verify your plan.

  • Subscription status — your plan state (e.g. active, canceled) and billing period, stored so your Premium features unlock correctly.

To verify your plan, the extension sends only your authentication token to our licensing API (https://nexnodic.vercel.app/api/license). No conversation content, memories, prompts, or folders are ever sent.

4. Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect or transmit the content of your Gemini prompts or the AI's responses.

  • We do not collect your browsing history or activity on other websites.

  • We do not use advertising identifiers or sell personal information.

  • We do not run third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the extension.

5. Payments

Payments and upgrades are handled by Stripe via Stripe Checkout. Nexnodic never receives or stores your full payment card details. Stripe processes your payment information under Stripe's own privacy policy.

6. Third-party services we rely on

  • Supabase — authentication (email OTP) and secure storage of subscription records. Receives your email address and subscription data.

  • Stripe — payment processing for Premium subscriptions.

  • Vercel — hosts our serverless licensing/billing API. Processes your authentication token to return your plan status.

  • Google Gemini — the site the extension runs on. Nexnodic reads and modifies the Gemini page in your browser to provide its features but does not send that page's content to us.

7. Permissions and how they are used

  • activeTab — read the active tab's URL when you click the toolbar icon, to confirm you're on Gemini before acting on that tab.

  • storage / unlimitedStorage — save your data locally without size loss.

  • Host access to gemini.google.com — inject the extension's features into Gemini.

  • Host access to nexnodic.vercel.app and our Supabase project — optional account sign-in, plan verification, and checkout.

Nexnodic requests the minimum permissions required and does not request the broad tabs permission.

8. Data retention

  • Local data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the extension.

  • Account and subscription records are retained for as long as your account exists and as required to provide the service and meet legal/accounting obligations. You may request deletion (see §10).

9. Security

All conversation content is sanitized in your browser with a bundled, industry- standard sanitizer (DOMPurify) before being displayed, to protect against malicious markup. Communication with our services uses HTTPS. Only public, publishable keys are shipped in the extension; secret keys live only on our servers.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because most of your data is stored locally, you can exercise access and deletion directly in the extension. For account/subscription data held by us, contact us using the details in §12 and we will respond as required by applicable law. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

11. Children's privacy

Nexnodic is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

12. Changes to this policy

If we add features that change data handling (for example, an opt-in telemetry signal or opt-in cloud sync), we will update this policy and, where the change is material, surface it in the extension before the feature is enabled. Any such features will default to off.
